Chela Mitchell is an art advisor, dealer, and gallerist whose work bridges thoughtful curation with cultural advocacy. As the founder of Chela Mitchell Art, she guides collectors, corporations, and institutions in building distinctive art collections, blending a discerning eye for emerging talents with deep expertise in the contemporary art market.
A native of Southeast Washington, D.C., Chela draws inspiration from the city’s rich cultural fabric. In 2023, she launched Chela Mitchell Gallery in D.C.’s Union Market District, a space dedicated to amplifying artists who challenge norms and offer bold, new perspectives. Through her multifaceted practice, Chela continues to shape the dialogue around art and its impact.
